Inogawa Cycling Road

Gunma has a large number of riverside cycling roads which makes it an excellent destination for cycle tourists.

The Inogawa Cycling Road covers around 6 kilometers from the suburb of Hamajiri, through to the burial mounds at Haniwa-no-sato Park in Hodota. It follows the river of the same name, and is lined with seasonal flowers like cosmos and azaleas and trees abundant with birds. Along the way there’s a summer house (azumaya) where you can take a rest and enjoy the tranquility, and you’ll also pass by Hamagawa Park with its pool complex and small lake.

There are other cycling roads in Takasaki, like the Karasugawa-Usuigawa Cycling Road that runs from Jonan Bridge to the neighboring city of Annaka, passing nearby Shorinzan Daruma Temple. For challengers, there is also the Takasaki-Isesaki Cycling Road that with a few connections will eventually lead you the 170 kilometers to Tokyo Disneyland.
